That's us!

As diverse and unique as Switzerland.

Growing up in different regions of Switzerland and Germany, we have all travelled and discovered Switzerland in a different way - just like you do with our holidays. We would like to introduce you to one of our favourite and most beautiful MANU excursion destinations so that you can get to know us a little better.

Every time I get out of the gondola on the Eggishorn in the Upper Valais and take a look at the large Aletsch glacier, I get goose bumps. The sight of these huge masses of ice is a special experience and a fascinating natural spectacle every time. Then the Herrenweg leads me from Fiescheralp to Bettmeralp. In a mountain inn I enjoy a fine "Plättli" and the views over the Rhone valley.

On the leisurely ride up to Schynige Platte on the nostalgic cogwheel railway, I love the constantly changing and fascinating views down to the shiny blue Lake Thun, the turquoise Lake Brienz and then the overwhelming view of the nearby triumvirate of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. I particularly like the botanical alpine garden on the summit with over 750 plant species and the circular nature cinema trail, where a huge wooden picture frame is set up, framing the impressive panorama with the magnificent mountain backdrop. When the sounds of the alphorns from the mountain station are heard, the moment is perfect.

When I let my gaze wander over the blue Lake Lugano and the numerous subtropical plants in Ticino, I am enchanted every time. Taking the funicular up to Monte San Salvatore is a must on every visit. Here I find a moment of peace and relaxation. The 360-degree panoramic view from the roof of the church on Monte San Salvatore is overwhelming - Switzerland can be so beautiful.

From the glaciers to the palm trees is the slogan for the Bernina Express route, and it doesn't promise too little. I have already travelled the railway line from Chur to Tirano many times and I am always happy to discover the diverse route with impressive viaducts and confusing helical tunnels. The surroundings look different in every season, and while it is already snowing on the Ospizio Bernina at 2,253 metres above sea level, the temperatures in Tirano are pleasant at 441 metres above sea level, allowing you to enjoy a fine Italian pizza and a gelati.

Schatzalp is easily reached by funicular. Already in the cable car I can catch great views of the cityscape of Davos again and again. Once on Schatzalp, there is a sweeping view over Davos and the surrounding mountains. My favourite trail is the waterfall circuit. This path leads through the forest. Here I can enjoy complete peace and quiet, block out everyday life and listen to the birdsong. Alpine flowers and berries can be found along the way. After the walk, it is worthwhile to sit down on the terrace and enjoy a snack. From here you have another breathtaking panoramic view.

The charming city of Saint Gallen is a true treasure for culture enthusiasts. With a captivating mix of historical heritage and contemporary creativity, I can hardly get enough of the old town, the museums and impressive architecture. My personal favorite is undoubtedly the Abbey Library near the imposing cathedral, as it holds an ambience of centuries-old writings and books but also stunning decorations and paintings. A city trip with a delicious "Olma Bratwurst" in between is definitely worth it!

While travelling through the impressive town of Flims, I came across Lake Cauma, a pleasant surprise in the midst of imposing mountains. The clear lake offers a relaxing atmosphere, accompanied by the scent of the surrounding pine forests. Practical amenities and an evening stroll under the starry sky make for pleasant moments. The café on the shore impresses with local specialities, making a day at Lake Cauma an eventful adventure that positively surprises my expectations every time. The friendly atmosphere and the variety of impressions make Lake Cauma a place I would recommend to others.

"Cast off!" With practised hand movements, the sailors untie the thick ropes at the Lucerne landing stage and the nostalgic steamer sets course for Flüelen. A journey through time on Lake Lucerne, in the heart of Switzerland. In the belly of the ship, powerful engines drive the paddle wheels. You can even watch the machinists at work with their oil cans. Everything as it was 120 years ago - during the Belle Époque. Now quickly grab a table in the lovingly restored restaurant, and afterwards enjoy the impressive journey through the fjord landscape of the Lake of Uri on the sun deck. Switzerland couldn't be more beautiful - welcome on board!
